Ladies and gentlemen, the top 5 albums of 2019!
Crazy to believe that only a week ago, we were all huddling in our homes just trying to scrounge enough blankets to last through the night compared to the mild temperatures that we open this new week with. It’s almost warm enough to start turning the AC back on in your vehicles!
And in the meantime, poor Eastern Canada took the brunt of a WILD snowstorm, the likes of which caused the National Defense to go help rescue Newfoundland. I’m not sure there’s enough rum to last until they dig themselves out.
But wherever you may be, we can all agree that music is the great calming force: Regardless of a blizzard or thunderstorm, the right song will get you through the storm. Tune in tonight at 11:00 pm on 91.3 FM or online at www.cjtr.ca for another selection of such wonderful songs.

This weather is not fit for aloof lovable aquatic mammals NOR feudal Japanese agents of chaos.
So we’re staying home tonight and we suggest you do the same.
Take care. Stay warm!
Get the hell out of here 2019! You were crap… total shite… nothing could ever be worse tha-…….
Wait… continent on fire… World War III? How did we not see this coming? We should all have 2020 vision now…
Well… ahem… one thing that WON’T change with the new year is a new episode of Operation Manatee on 91.3 FM CJTR in Regina. Tune in at our never-changing time, 11:00 pm and we’ll do our thing to warm up your night and kick the year off right!
Bwah Bwah Bwah Bwaaaaah!
It’s finally here! The only best album list that truly matters. The Operation Manatee Music Prize Long List.
This was the longest, most involved long list I’ve done. There were 170 albums to choose from. Only 103 made the cut. These are below. The Top 5 albums of 2019 will be posted soon.
Some rules to make it to this list:
- Must be sonically interesting
- No singles except full album-length/concept tracks; can be EPs
- No compilations
- No reissues
This is it! The last Operation Manatee of 2019! Another year is in the books (more or less) and we’re spending the last two weeks soaking in time with friends and family. You all should do the same!
But before you do, make sure you tune in for tonight’s show. And keep tuning in over the holiday season. Convert some friends into CEEJ-aholics and make sure you buy your 2020 CJTR memberships as soon as you can!
Have a happy and safe holiday season and we’ll be back on January 7 for another new year of Operation Manatee nonsense.

Unfortunately, Operation Manatee will not be heard in it’s entirety tonight due to lack of hosts. The changing weather patterns have rendered the mighty human organisms that power the show, utterly unable to entertain.
Tune in again next week, when hopefully all flu bugs will perish, in the desolate wastelands of the lower intestinal tracts.
This time of year just seems right to open a bottle of wine or whiskey and relax in some steaming water. Oh hot tub… warmer of souls, breeder of algae, courtesan of the average Joe… wherever you are listening from tonight, hopefully, it’s in the warm embrace of your own chlorine cocktail.
Tune in at 11:00 pm on 91.3 FM in Regina or online at www.cjtr.ca worldwide, in whatever state of relax you may be. Chris and Cory will be here to help ease you into the night.
